Li AiHua came to the Siping Center on May 22, 2007 in very serious condition with an imperforate anus. Since then she has had surgery and is doing very well.

Date of Update

Update: July 17, 2008

AiHua is recovering very well from her recent surgery and is scheduled to be released from the hospital on Monday, July 21. She is sporting the latest hairstyle...none! We are not sure why...but the good news is that like any bad haircut, it will grow back! We're sure she will be happy to return to her friends and all the Nannies at the Center.

Update: April 9, 2008

Li AiHua continues to improve after her surgery. There sill need to be others as she grows up but for now she improving everyday as you can see in the photos below.

February 25, 2008 - Update on Surgery
(See new photos below)

The doctors are surprised (and very pleased) at how well AiHua is doing since her surgery. She has had no fever, and is as playful and happy as normal. Then only time she shows any signs of pain is when her surgical site is cleaned. She prefers to be standing, and is so excited to be the center of attention!

AiHua's recovery will be ongoing, as this surgery was only the first step in the procedures to help her attain normal function. She still has a long road ahead of her, but with the love and support of the nannies (and the good wishes from all of you!) we hope she will have an easy time.

We have some new photos to share, and will continue to update her page as we receive additional news.

February 22, 2008 - Update

Li AiHua came through her first surgery without any complications. The surgery lasted about two hours. Once she was out of recovery, Nanny Wang took over and began to care for her. Nanny Wang has over 20 years experience in caring for children, and she loves the little ones! The surgeons reported that her condition was not as severe as they had expected, and they are now planning her follow-up surgeries and care. It may take a long time for the muscle control to occur.
At around 7:00pm, AiHua began to cry with the pain. They gave her some sips of water, and a little bit of chocolate to melt in her mouth since that is her favorite. Her pacifier has had quite a workout since her surgery was finished!

We hope her pain will lessen soon. We know she will be very happy to return "home" to the Center where she will be surrounded by familiar faces and the love and attention of those who care for her so much.

Photos below are of Aihua after surgery.

Please
Support the Siping
Fostercare Children

Would you please help support the children in our fostercare home in Siping, China.  It costs $280 per child per month to provide the medical care, food, diapers, and staff to give these children a chance to survive long enough to be adopted.  We don't expect everyone to provide complete sponsorship to one child so we offer you three options for monthly donations.  "Option A" is $28 per month (just 92 cents a day), "Option B" is $20 per month (just 65 cents a day), "Option C" is $10 per month (just 32 cents a day), or if you are feeling really crazy, I mean generous, today; we have "Option D" so you can provide 100% of a child's support per month.  We hope one of these will allow you to help these children.  They have no one else to look to for hope.

Thank you so much for your generous donation. Your donations are tax deductable.
