Our son also had a similar scar, however it looks like your little ones scar includes his belly button, if so it was more than likely the chlds intestines were on the outside when the child was born.

He arrived with the scar so we are not certain of the cause. An ultrasound was done to see if there had been any surgery or removal of internal organs but they could not see that anything had been done. There guess is that he had some sort of growth on the outside that was removed but this is only a guess.

We have asked for an update on him. All we know right now is that it is from surgery (but that was obvious). As soon as I have an answer I will post it here. We have had children in the past that we were never able to determine what the scars were from. Some children that are abandoned arrive with scars such as this.
