Chang DeLai arrived on August 21, 2008 from the Changchun Orphanage. Due to his cleft lip and palate he was severely malnourished. The nannies at the orphanage have done a wonderful job caring for him and you can see from the photos below they have been able to fatten him up in just one short month.

 

Update: October 2008

DeLai was born with a cleft lip and palate, and cannot have the first of his surgeries until he has put on some weight. He is a tough boy who has had several small problems. He was very weak at the beginning and then had a couple of colds. His eating is very slow. It can take the nannies half an hour longer to feed him than the other babies. DeLai's condition at his arrival was better than the other babies. DeLai is all boy, he doesn't mind the small things, and is happy to eat and sleep.

Fostercare Children

Would you please help support the children in our fostercare home in Siping, China.  It costs $280 per child per month to provide the medical care, food, diapers, and staff to give these children a chance to survive long enough to be adopted.  We don't expect everyone to provide complete sponsorship to one child so we offer you three options for monthly donations.  "Option A" is $28 per month (just 92 cents a day), "Option B" is $20 per month (just 65 cents a day), "Option C" is $10 per month (just 32 cents a day), or if you are feeling really crazy, I mean generous, today; we have "Option D" so you can provide 100% of a child's support per month.  We hope one of these will allow you to help these children.  They have no one else to look to for hope.
