Update: April 2009
Chang ZhiWen was diagnosed with Cytomegalovirus. There is no treatment for this and usually last only a few weeks. It can have some lasing effects on infants but for now he is well and able to return to the orphanage. We will keep track of him to be sure he is doing well at the orphanage. The nannies did a great job of caring for him during his critical period. They were sad to see him go but know that our goal is to get these children back to health and back to their orphanage so they may be adopted.
Update: March 26, 2009
Chang ZhiWen is having a difficult time. He is not able to keep milk down and his stomach feels hard. Dr. Frank will be checking other children at the Changchun orphanage tomorrow and will examine Chang ZhiWen's records of his time there to see what may be causing the problems and will develop a treatment plan for little ZhiWen.
Update: March 2009
Chang ZhiWen was abandoned in the cold just as Chang ZhiRui. The winters in northern China are brutal with temperatures well below zero. An infant cannot survive long in those temperatures. Fortunately he was found in time and taken to the hospital. He was suffering from hypothermia and was unable to drink milk. He is now with the nannies and needs your prayers and help during this critical time.
